My Name is Marcus Politis and I would like to welcome you to Gwynedd’s dynamic range of Disability Sports.
For Wheelchair Users and People with Physical Disabilities we have the following opportunities:-
A coached Wheelchair Tennis Programme, an exiting Shooting initiative to check out, Sports Wheelchairs for badminton use in Bangor & Porthmadog Leisure Centres, there are 2 Boccia Clubs, an Adaptive rowing facility and accessible pools.
VI / Blind Sports We have monthly sailing programme with J80’s and Catamarans. We have a monthly walking programme called Voice Trails with a huge membership base of 30 VI people and there are also tandems available for use on a casual basis. We are hoping to launch another exiting Shooting Initiative with Acoustics in conjunction with British Blind Sports.
Pan Disability – (all disabilities) We have got an Athletics Club, a Bowls Club, Archery Club, Trampolining Club, Fishing Club, Horse Riding Clubs, and a Karate club providing sports for all.
Community Champions: Gwynedd now has 4 Disabled sporting athletes who receive a Gold Cards (free leisure centre use) due to their achievements check out their profiles.

Pan Disability sessions for people of all ages (ring for details)
Sessions are on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

A well established riding club for the disabled is located in Treborth near Bangor offering riding opportunities for Pan Disabilities.
Juniors & adults
Membership Fees Plus £2 adults / £1 Juniors
This is an inclusive mainstream Archery club with membership for people with physical disabilities and VI people.
Suitable for all ages
3 Bikes available for Visually Impaired to buddy up with sighted person to use.
The lake is a 1200 acre stillwater set in the Snowdonia national park.
Suitable for Adults & Juniors
Tuesdays & Fridays 5.
Suitable for ages 14+
£15 per session (although this is an on going learn to sail course)
This is an established activity and is a fantastic monthly sailing programme which provides a half day sailing opportunity organised by Plas Menai & Disability Sport Wales.
Following a strong interest in VI shooting with over 35 names on a data base for shooting with acoustics, the Gwynedd DSWDO has applied for a £5,000 grant to set up a barnd new club.

The Bangoroos are Gwynedd’s 1st Clubmark Club
The Bangoroos are a quality assured accredited club that has the highest of standards in providing sports within a fun & safe environment. The sessions run with a minimum of 2 trampoline beds which means the children are not waiting around as much for their turn.
To ensure there is a place for your disabled child / children it is essential for you to register your interest with Isabel hudgel prior to attending any sessions
